St. Paul Attorney Ill In Rwanda
A Twin Cities law professor who’s under arrest in Rwanda has fallen ill. Peter Erlinder was taken to a hospital after being interrogated for about two hours by authorities.
Erlinder’s attorneys say his pre-existing ailments like high blood pressure are being exacerbated by the conditions in the jail where he’s being held.
Erlinder, a professor at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, is in Rwanda to help defend a presidential candidate against charges of promoting genocidal ideology. He was arrested last week on charges of denying genocide.
