Nurses Likely To Strike
Talks between 14 Twin Cities hospitals and the nurses’ union have failed to reach a settlement. Talks ended Friday without significant progress and no further talks are scheduled before Thursday when nurses say they will go on a one-day strike. 12 thousand nurses are involved. A hospital spokeswoman says hospitals will be ready with replacement workers. Nurses say staffing and their pension are the two big issues. Hospitals say the economics are the big issues.
