Nurses Will Vote on 2nd Strike
Nurses will vote Monday on open-ended strike
12,000 union nurses in the Twin Cities will take another strike authorization vote on Monday. Last week, the nurses participated in a one-day strike against 14 hospitals in metro area. This time, nurses will be voting on an open-ended walkout, which would take place at least 10 days after the strike authorization vote. There have been no recent negotiations between the nurses and the hospitals. Sticking points include staffing levels, and the hospitals ability to assign nurses to various units. Hospitals say even in the event of a strike, they will maintain patient care and safety.
