Pride Organizers Seek Injuction
Should an anti-gay activist be allowed to attend this weekend’s Pride Festival at Loring Park? That matter is before a federal judge today.
53 year-old Brain Johnson, a born-again Christian, says he just wants to distribute Bibles and discuss his beliefs at the festival. But Pride Festival organizers say they’ve acquired a permit and have the right to keep Johnson off the grounds. Festival manager Jim Kelley says Johnson is free to preach his message across the street. The Minneapolis Park Board says the activist has a right to be on park grounds and today the festival is seeking a court injuction to reverse that decision.
