Minneapolis-native Prince has received BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
The 52-year-old Prince has been making music for over 30 years. He has joined the likes of James Brown, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross and Al Green in being honored by the BET Awards.
Prince started recording in 1977 and went on to become one of the most influential rock musicians, with 10 platinum albums and 30 Top 40 singles to his name.
The BET show in Los Angeles was hosted by Queen Latifah and include performances by Kanye West.
