Two long-time cops are retiring today — one of them of the4-legged variety. A trusted police horse named Whisper is being retired due to an injury. Whisper has been a police horse in Minneapolis for 14 years. The thoroughbred raced at Canterbury Downs until age 4, then was donated to the Minneapolis Park Police.
And in St Paul, this is the last day on the job for retiring chief John Harrington. He’s now going into politics, seeking election to the state senate.
