Standardized test results show math scores are up and reading scores are holding steady for Minnesota students.  65 percent of students were proficient in math this year, a nearly 7 percent increase from 2006. But reading scores remained largely unchanged.

And there’s been little progress in closing the state’s achievement gap between white students and their black, Hispanic and American Indian peers.

The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments were given this spring to students in grades 3 through 8 and 10th and 11th grades.
