Sirens activated in East Metro after funnel cloud spotted Monday morning
An alarming sight in the East Metro Monday morning, as funnel clouds were spotted. However, there were no tornado watches or warnings in effect. The National Weather Service says the funnel clouds were a biproduct of westward moving rain storms mixing with a tropical air mass hovering over the Twin Cities. The NWS says these types of funnels are weak and rarely will turn into tornadoes.
