The Good Life For Less: Free Fun For The Family

There are a few cool, kid-friendly events going on this weekend.

Mills Fleet Farm is hosting its annual kid's fishing day Saturday (July 10) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kids get to learn basic fishing skills, casting tips, knot tying, how to use live bait and identify fish, and proper life vest fitting.

Lowes is hosting a Build and Grow workshop this weekend that will teach you how to make a ball and cup game.

There is a new project every Saturday at 10 a.m. According to the site, each kid get a "free apron, goggles, a project themed patch, and a certification of merit upon completion of their project."

And, if you find yourself in downtown Minneapolis this month, check out some free music happening at Sommerfest 2010. It runs from this weekend through the end of the month. Click here for a schedule of free concerts.

The concerts happen on Peavey Plaza, before each Sommerfest concert inside Orchestra Hall. The difference is, the concerts on Peavey are free!

You can buy food and enjoy a night of music outside, bring family or a date.
