More Minnesota troops are returning home from Afghanistan.
Twenty members of the Minnesota Air National Guard’s 133rd Airlift Wing are scheduled to return Sunday after being deployed to Afghanistan for two months.
Meanwhile, the 133rd deployed 30 members of its security forces squadron to Iraq on Friday. The troops will be supporting Operation New Dawn for six months.
On Wednesday, the wing also launched a C-130 H3 “Hercules” cargo aircraft headed to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.
Throughout July, the 133rd will deploy more than 130 airmen and four C-130 aircraft overseas while about 75 airmen complete their missions and return home.
