Murder charges have been filed against a St. Paul man accused of killing his sister, her husband, and their daughter. 55-year old Patrick McHugh allegedly shot and killed the three, and shot and wounded his other sister Friday night, at his mother’s home on the 18-hundred block of Munster in St. Paul. The surviving sister told police she pleaded with McHugh not to shoot her, and then, after being shot in the face and neck by McHugh, played dead until he left the house. Friends of the victims say the murders may have been the result of a family dispute over the care and estate of their 80-year old mother, who was also in the home at the time of the killings, but was not harmed. McHugh is charged with three counts of second degree murder, and one count of attempted second-degree murder.
