jearlyn5 Center Stage 7/18/10Rohan Preston updates us on what’s new on Twin Cities stages.  The Star Trib theatre critic discusses the upcoming Minnesota Fringe Festival, A Streetcar Named Desire, and what people say about theatre that’s “too real” as opposed to an escape.

The classic production of A Streetcar Named Desire is currently playing at the Guthrie.  Stacia Rice is playing Stella in this production, and she talks about the play with Jearlyn.

The Sounds of Summer series continued at the Old Log Theatre this week as the Charles Lazarus Jazz Quintet stopped by.  The man who bears the group’s name discusses his music on the show.

The Stepping Stone Theatre is presenting The Stinky Cheese Man through the rest of July (run ends August 1st).  Composer Gary Rue wrote the music for the play and tells Jearlyn about the production.
