A Waconia man has been charged in connection with the theft of funds from a non-profit organization that helps autistic and Alzheimer’s patients in Carver County. Authorities have charged 36-year old Mario Cortolezzis with eight felonies. They say he used his position as Executive Director of SAFERS, Search and Find Emergency Responders, to steal more than 29-thousand dollars.
