Investigators in Michigan are interviewing the pilot of a plane that crashed into Lake Michigan yesterday. 66-year old Jerry Freed of Alma, Michigan and a co-pilot were transporting a man with cancer, his wife and a doctor to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. It’s still unclear what caused the crash. Authorities say Freed had sent a distress signal and was trying to head back to land when the transmission was lost. Freed was rescued yesterday and is reported in good condition.
