Charges Filed in Good Samaritan Beating

An 18-year old has been charged in the alleged beating of a man who was trying to stop the teen from assaulting his girlfriend. Brian Edward Harper has been charged with third degree assault after police say he kicked 33-year old Eric Skripka in the head repeatedly after they got off a Metro Transit bus. The incident happened Saturday night on the 14-hundred block of University Avenue in St. Paul. Harper was found by police hiding in a nearby garage.
