Zebra Mussels Found in Lake Minnetonka

Invasive pest found on rocks along east side of Wayzata Bay.

Officials with the Minnnesota Department of Natural Resources say zebra mussels have found their way to Lake Minnetonka.

The DNR says the pests were attached to rocks along the shore on the east side of Wayzata Bay. A resident discovered them earlier this week. Officials don’t know how widespread the zebra mussel population is, but say the young age of those discovered suggests a reproducing population likely has been in the lake for at least a year.
