It might still be the height of summer, but you can get a leg up on the upcoming flu season by getting a flu shot.Some retailers are already offering flu shots to customers.

It’s good news to the Minnesota Health Department’s Director of Infectious Diseases. Kris Ehresmann says people should get a flu shot as soon as possible, regardless of their age.  Health officials are no longer targeting certain populations for the vaccine.  Another change this year:  A new, higher-dose vaccine for older adults.
