Two Twins Land on DL Saturday

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ The Minnesota Twins have placed starter Kevin Slowey and reliever Ron Mahay on the disabled list after both were injured on Saturday against the Los Angeles Angels.
Slowey left after the third inning with a strained right triceps muscle. He says he felt a twinge in the muscle during the last hitter he faced. He gave up four runs on seven hits in the 9-3 loss.
The lefty Mahay left the game in the sixth when he stumbled off the mound trying to field a dribbler form Erick Aybar. He says he strained his right shoulder while coming off the mound, then hurt it more when he fell to the ground.
The Twins recalled starter Nick Blackburn and reliever Anthony Slama from Triple-A Rochester to fill in. Manager Ron Gardenhire says it has yet to be determined when Blackburn will start next.
