Seven “zombies” will split $165,000
The city of Minneapolis is paying $165,000 to settle a federal lawsuit filed by seven people arrested in 2006 after they dressed as zombies. The seven say they were protesting mindless consumerism. The four men and three women were jailed for two days without charges being filed. Police said at the time the portable stereo equipment the protesters had simulated “weapons of mass destruction.” The Minneapolis City Attorney says police acted reasonably but she agreed to the settlement because juries can be unpredictable.
