Two MN Servicemen Killed in Afghanistan
Roadside bombs in Afghanistan have claimed the lives of two servicemen with Minnesota ties. 34 year-old Master Sergeant Daniel Fedder, a highly-decorated Marine who grew up in Pine City, was killed when a bomb exploded in Helmand Province. Fedder was on his third combat deployment. He also had served in Iraq and had received the Purple Heart.
And 20 year-old Army Private Adam Novak, who lived in Fergus Falls for 11 years before moving to Sauk Prairie, Wisconsin, was killed when insurgents bombed his vehicle. Novak was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
