It’s the first lawsuit filed in Minnesota in connection with the egg salmonella outbreak. Robin Shaffer of Mantorville claims she was one of the seven people who contracted the illness after eating at Mi Rancho restaurant in Bemidji. State health officials have linked the seven salmonella cases in May to that restaurant. The suit names two Iowa egg producers — along with the owner of the restaurant. It seeks awards of more than 50-thousand dollars for Shaffer and her husband.
