A police dog that went missing in Champlin yesterday has been found. “Sherman,” a 4-year-old black lab that’s trained to detect narcotics, took off in the 1200 block of West River Road after a service worker accidentally left the gate to his kennel open.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s office says a citizen in Champlin found Sherman and the dog was returned to his handler this morning. The sheriff’s department credits the media attention for the quick recovery of the K9.
