Former Twin Cities auto magnate Denny Hecker plans to plead guilty in Minneapolis Federal Court this afternoon. Hecker’s attorney Brian Toder tells WCCO Radio news his client plans to plead guilty to one count of bankruptcy fraud and one count of conspiracy. He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison. Toder says it’s a good deal because Hecker faced a lengthy prison term if convicted of all 26 counts against him at trial.
Hecker faced a court hearing tomorrow on alleged bail violations that could have sent him back to jail until his trial in October. Toder says that hearing got the ball rolling on the plea agreement, which is expected at 2 o’clock this afternoon in U-S District Court in Minneapolis.
