A new survey gives hope to students graduating from college and looking for their first job.
St. Cloud State University’s Career Services Center surveyed more than 90 Minnesota employers and found more than 42 percent of them planned to increase hiring in the next year. That’s more than double the rate from a year ago and the best news in a couple of years, according to survey director Andrew Ditlevson.
The survey also found employers plan to pay more. Ten percent indicated they intended to increase salaries during the coming year and the rest said they would maintain current salaries. None of the employers questioned were planning pay cuts.
