Officials in southeastern Minnesota are hoping the public will provide information leading to the owner of an empty canoe found on the Mississippi River three weeks ago. Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand says the canoe was filled with camping gear and men’s clothing.

Receipts in the clothing were traced to a Wal-Mart store in Red Wing and authorities obtained a surveillance image of the owner. It’s believed the man was driving a 2002 blue Ford Expedition.
