Governor Tim Pawlenty and his 50 member delegation are wrapping up a nine day trade mission to Asia.
Speaking Friday by teleconference from Japan Pawlenty said the mission primarily focused on establishing opportunities for small and mid-size businesses. He says large companies already have contacts but it’s not as easy for smaller operations. The group of around 50 visited officials in China and Japan. Pawlenty said Asians are interested in Minnesota produced technology as well as Minnesota agricultural products. About a quarter of soybeans grown in Minnesota already are exported to Asia.
