metro transit bus ii2 Voting Wraps Up today on Metro Transit Offer

Voting continues today on a contract offer aimed at preventing another transit strike in the Twin Cities.

2,200 Workers began voting on the new offer yesterday and will continue casting ballots today. Results are expected tonight.

bus drivers, train operators and other union workers are voting on a new offer from Metro Transit. An initial offer was rejected last month. It contained a wage freeze and increases in health insurance payments.

  1. Duane says:

The bus drivers should get a pay increase to keep up with the cost of living. You just cannot increase health insurance rates, and not offer a pay increase to help your employees to cover their cost increase, and still have a life. We all want to do more than just exist — we want to eat, maintain our homes and cars, go on vacation with our families, etc. I hope management will give their employees the same pay increases that they received.
