Police have charged two people with the rash of burglaries and arsons that destroyed cabins and businesses in over three Minnesota counties back in 2008/
Brandon Allan Lind, 25, and Christian Amadeus Eichert, 23, were charge with numerous counts of arson and burglaries stemming from an April 2008 crime spree where police said they set 10 vacant cabins and a sportsman club on fire near Big Pine Lake near Finlayson, Minn.
They are also charged with additional fires and burglaries that happened in three different counties in 2007 to 2008.
The Pine County Sheriff’s Office the crimes took place in Kanabec, Aitkin and Pine Counties.
So far, Lind was charged on 36 counts and Eichert was charged with 21 counts.
According to the criminal complaint, Lind’s girlfriend, Kristina Langerud, told police that Lind and Eichert would brag and show her burglaries they had committed and showed her property that they stole.
She said Lind and Eichert would go out together in the evening and return in the early morning hours with property they had stolen from area homes and businesses.
Langerud said Lind would scope out locations, then they would return later to burglarize the places. Sometimes, she said they broke into the same house multiple times.
Langerud even said that she and Lind returned to the scene of the Pine Lake fires later in the day when emergency personnel and news crews were there.
She said Eichert is a fire setter and does it for a “rush” and he believed he would never get caught.
The fires caused much more than $1 million in damage.
Both Lind and Eichert are in the Pine County Jail.
