EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) – The Minnesota Vikings added a receiver on Wednesday, but not the one they really wanted.
Free agent Hank Baskett signed a one-year deal to return to Minnesota one day after getting cut by the Philadelphia Eagles.
But the Vikings were unable to pull off a trade with the San Diego Chargers for Vincent Jackson before a 4 p.m. Eastern deadline that would have reduced his suspension from six games to four.
Making matters worse, Percy Harvin missed practice on Wednesday with a migraine headache. He has also been dealing with a strained right hip and his availability for the game Sunday against Detroit is in doubt.
That means the Vikings only have four healthy receivers on the active roster – Baskett, Bernard Berrian, Greg Camarillo and Greg Lewis.
