 Seven inches of rain reported in some locations.  

Flash flooding is reported in parts of southern Minnesota, where heavy rain has been falling since last night.  One of the worst spots is Owatonna where some homes have been evacuated.  Steele County Emergency Management Director Mike Johnson Ssays there’s also some street and basement flooding in Owatonna, where about six inches of rain have fallen overnight and more is on the way. More than 7 inches of rain fell in Minnesota Lake in Fairbault County where a sheriff’s dispatcher says some county roads have flooded and people have reported water in their homes.  In Arcadia, Wisconsin, about 20 miles north of Winona, emergency crews are evacuating some 1,500 residents.  Schools are closed there today, and also closed are the Ashley Furniture factory and the Gold’n Plump factory.
