A suspect is under arrest after a couple in their 70s were killed in their rural northwestern Minnesota home, apparently at random.
Acting on a tip, County authorities discovered the bodies of a man and a woman in a home eight miles east of Mahnomen early Friday.
The sheriff’s office identifies the victims as 72-year-old Francis Lundon and his 71-year-old wife, Ethyl. They apparently had been shot to death.
Sheriff Doug Krier says Morrison County authorities contacted his office after they questioned a man who allegedly had told his friend he had killed people in Mahnomen County. The suspect was driving a pickup registered to the victims.
Krier says it appears the killing was random. The motive isn’t known.
