Driver to Join Lawsuit of Victims in Toyota Crash
Koua Fong Lee served prison time for fatal 2006 crash that killed three.
The man who served prison time for a St. Paul crash that killed three people is joining the victims’ family members in suing Toyota. Koua Fong Lee was released from prison earlier this year after a new trial was ordered based on Toyota’s rapid acceleration problems. Lee was driving a 1996 Toyota in the 2006 crash. The family of the three victims has sued Toyota for wrongful death, and Lee’s attorney Brent Schafer is filing a request to intervene in the existing suit. A judge will hear the motion to join those lawsuits at a hearing next month.
