High Winds Wreak Havoc in Minnesota
Trees down. Power out. School cancelled. Flights cancelled.
Flights at MSP Airport are still reduced to a single runway and more flights may be cancelled today. Travelers are advised to check ahead on their flight status today, as a high wind warning remains in effect in the metro area. Close to 30,000 customers were without power at times Wednesday morning, including several schools, which forced closures. The Twin Cities also got it’s first taste of snow, though no accumulation was expected.
We’re still feeling the effects of unusually strong winds. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 miles an hour were reported during the night.
