Father Shoots Son In Deer Hunting Accident

SAUK CENTRE TOWNSHIP, Minn. (WCCO) -- A 14-year-old boy is in fair condition after a hunting accident as he was out with his father and three other men, according to St. Cloud Hospital and the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

It happened just after 2:30 p.m. in Sauk Centre Township.

The victim, Taylor Gieske, and one of the men were walking together in some thick brush, unarmed. The plan was for Taylor to flush out the deer.

His father, Robert Gieske, saw the deer run and fired his shotgun. The shot hit Taylor by mistake, according to the sheriff's office.

Taylor was taken to a Sauk Centre hospital, and from there to St. Cloud Hospital.

Sauk Centre is in central Minnesota.
