Dead Cougar Found In Western Minn.

TERRACE, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Department of Natural Resources is planning a series of tests after a young, male cougar was found dead in Western Minnesota.

The DNR picked up the cougar Monday from a property near Terrace, Minn. in Pope County.

Based on the hair loss and body decomposition, the DNR believes the cougar had been dead for about a week before it was found.

Dan Stark, of the DNR, said it's unknown if the cougar was captive or wild. He said tests will help determine the exact time and cause of death.
