Tenant Accused Of Arson In Waite Park

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Waite Park Police and Fire Department said a man intentionally set fire to his own home on Wednesday morning.

Crews were called to a house fire at 10 9th Ave. North around 9:20 a.m.

They arrived and found the back of the residence on fire. No one was home at the time and the fire caused minimal damage.

The State Fire Marshall and Waite Park Police investigated the fire and determined that is was arson.

Police arrested Timothy Gilles, 21, a tenant of the residence, Wednesday night in St. Cloud.

Police are holding him, pending charges of 1st degree arson.
