Group Urging Travel Security 'Opt Out'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- As people begin the busy Thanksgiving travel period, much has been made of the increased measures the Transportation Security Administration is undertaking.
A local group says "enough is enough" and it's asking passengers to opt-out of the new measures or not to fly at all.
"It's security theater," said Melissa Hill, with the local grassroots group We Won't Fly. "It's not a way to treat passengers."
Passengers who choose to "opt-out" of a high-tech body scanner may be asked to undergo a comprehensive pat-down. Several groups are urging passengers to "opt-out" of the scanners.
Hill, and others with We Won't Fly, will be at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Wednesday evening to talk to passengers and hand out stickers that read "I Opt Out."
