Pastor Mum On Marriage Plans Of Fallen Auto Mogul

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- A pastor who was in the room with the girlfriend of a fallen auto dealer last week has declined to say whether he was there to marry the jailed man.

The Rev. Peter Geisendorfer-Lindgren tells the Pioneer Press he showed up last Wednesday at an office where Denny Hecker was meeting with attorneys to compile records requested by the court while Hecker's girlfriend, Christi Rowan, was in another room.

Giesendorfer-Lindgren says he left without seeing Hecker. Giesendorfer-Lindgren says the 58-year-old Hecker wants to get married for a fifth time, but there was no intent to go around somebody's back.

Hecker remains in federal custody after he pleaded guilty in September to fraud and conspiracy. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole Engisch says U.S. Marshals require a court order to allow a marriage.
