MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The family of a 9-year-old girl has a lot to be thankful for after she survived getting ejected from a car in an accident early Thursday morning.

The one-vehicle crash happened at 5:25 a.m. on Interstate 94 near Hixton, Wis. in Jackson County.

The little girl wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time and was ejected. Her injuries were non-life threatening.

The 9-year-old was the daughter of the 28 year-old woman passenger in the car.

The driver, Juan Robinson, 23, from New Brighton, Minn. was cited for not having a valid license, a seat belt violation and failure to have insurance.
