3-Vehicle Accident Shuts Down Bridge In St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD (WCCO) -- A three-vehicle accident closed a bridge for 2 1/2 hours in St. Cloud Friday morning, according to police.

Police were dispatched at 9:34 a.m. to the accident in the middle of the University Bridge. When they arrived, they found three vehicles, including a semi, which were significantly damaged.

Police believe icy conditions caused a 21-year-old woman from to lose control when she was crossing the bridge. Her vehicle collided with the semi, which was driven by a 38-year-old man. The semi then crossed lanes and struck a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old woman, who had two passengers in her car.

Everybody involved in the crash sustained minor injuries, but were not taken to the hospital and were treated on the scene.

No one was cited in the accident.
