2 Sent To The Hospital After Mpls. Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Fire crews are investigating a house fire in Minneapolis that sent two people to the hospital Saturday.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. at 3523 Fremont Ave. North, according to Cherie Penn, the Assistant Chief of Administration for the Minneapolis Fire Department.

Crews arrived and found the front porch fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters said there were six residents in the house at the time -- two adults and four children.

Two of the residents, the adults, were taken to North Memorial Medical Center to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The children were picked up by their father, who was not at the residence at the time.

No firefighters were hurt.

Penn said it is too early to know what caused the fire, but they continue to investigate.
