MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Police say a woman was hit in the leg by a stray BB bullet while walking down the street in Chaska, Minn.
Officers said two women were walking on Crosstown Boulevard and as they were walking one of them was shot in the right leg with a BB gun.
Neither of the women could tell who shot it, so they called 911.
Officers located a man in a nearby building who admitted to shooting the BB gun out his window.
He said he was aiming at targets out the window and didn’t intentionally hit the woman. He told police that he shouldn’t be arrested because it was not like he shot someone.
Police explained to the man that he actually did shoot someone and he was arrested for second degree assault.
The woman who was hit didn’t need medical attention.
The gun was taken in for evidence. A warning stamped on the gun read that “Misuse or careless use may cause serious injury or death.”
