MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who they say is a person of interest in two recent robberies of senior citizens in south Minneapolis.

The first incident occurred on Nov. 27 just before 6 p.m. on the 3000 block of 45th Avenue South. Police say an 85-year-old woman was getting out of her car when a man grabbed her from behind, threw her to the ground, and ripped the purse of her shoulder. She was not injured.

The second incident occurred on Nov. 29 just after 9 p.m. on the 4700 block of East 45th Street. Police say a 66-year-old woman was confronted by a man with a rifle or shotgun, who demanded her purse and fled on foot.

Anyone who can identify the man pictured is asked to call Sgt. Fred McDonald with the Minneapolis Police Department’s Robbery/Assault Unit at 612-673-3049.
