Police Look For Man Wanted In Attempted Park Assault

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police are looking for a man they believe attempted to sexually assault a woman in North Commons Park.

Police said on Nov. 21st around 9 p.m., a woman was walking in the park when she was accosted by a man who offered to sell her drugs. He started to follow her in the park and when she reached a more isolated area he tried to sexually assault her. She fought back and eventually drove the man away.

The man is described as a black or mixed race male between the ages of 17 and 21. He has a light complexion and is around 5-foot-6 with a thin build. He is described as having full lips, dimples on his lower cheeks, large eyes and short black hair. He was wearing a gray, long-sleeved pullover sweater, red thigh-length shorts and white and black tennis shoes.

Minneapolis police are asking anyone with information about the case to call the sex crime unit at 612-637-2881.
