BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Bemidji State spotted Nebraska-Omaha an early lead but rallied to beat the Mavericks 3-1 on Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Fourth-ranked Nebraska-Omaha (9-4-1, 6-3-1) ended Bakala’s streak on Johnnie Searfoss’ goal in the first period. Bakala finished with 39 saves on 40 shots on goal.
Ian Lowe tied it for the Beavers with 1 second left in the second period, and Aaron McLeod and Jordan George netted third-period goals.
John Faulkner had 26 saves for Nebraska-Omaha.
The Beavers (5-8-1, 4-7-1) also won Friday’s series opener between the WCHA newcomers 3-0, with goalie Dan Bakala recording his second straight shutout.
