DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Top-ranked Minnesota Duluth got goals from Justin Faulk and Mike Connolly to beat Denver 2-1 on Saturday, earning a split of their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.

Faulk scored on the power play in the first period and Connolly got what proved to be the game-winner short-handed with just over a minute left to play in the second period.

Kenny Reiter made 28 saves, including a game-high 12 in the third period for the Bulldogs.

Anthony Maiani scored a power-play goal for the Pioneers midway through the third period to make it a one-goal game.

Sam Brittain made 31 saves for No. 10 Denver, which won Friday's opener 5-4 in overtime.
