FARMINGTON, Iowa (AP) — A former superintendent is suing the Harmony School District for wrongful termination.
The (Burlington) Hawk Eye reports the lawsuit filed by Joseph Hundeby, of St. Cloud, Minn., lists 90 accusations against the district related to his firing.
Hundeby was hired by the district in August 2008 and given a two-year contract. He was placed on paid leave three months later and eventually fired.
In his lawsuit, Hundeby says the district agreed to accept his conditional license to be an administrator if he got a permanent one within a year, but school officials later changed their mind. He’s asking to be reinstated as superintendent and for lost wages and other compensation.
The school district says Hundeby has made many “baseless claims” and the district will defend his firing.

Sounds like the district blew it, if they indeed did not com;ply with their original agreement. However, there’s usually more than meets the eye, when it comes to such cases. I can’t help but wonder why they changed their minds so quickly. My guess is that some local politics came into play, or that he just wasn’t a good fit for them.

By the way, isn’t it a bit ironic that he was fired from the “Harmony” School District?
Maybe, it’s not so harmonious after all…
