LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — At least a dozen vehicles were involved in a chain reaction crash on a Mississippi River bridge at the southern Wisconsin-Minnesota border Tuesday morning.

Wisconsin State Trooper Mike Allison responded to the scene. Allison says one person was transported to the hospital as a result of the pileup on an icy bridge deck. The trooper says one driver told him it looked like the auto racing film “Days of Thunder” because of the number of vehicles that crashed, with some hitting the bridge barriers.

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 were closed for more than an hour while crashes on both sides of the river were cleared.

I’m always astonished how people think they live in an amusement park. Simple physics: when snow melts and it gets cold, it turns to ice. When exhaust freezes, it turns to ice. When you tail a vehicle too closely, you can’t stop. When you tail a vehicle too closely on ice, you can’t stop even MORE. Doesn’t really matter what kind of car you drive. Ice is BAD! : (

    I hope everybody is okay.
