Baby Found Not Breathing, Dies In Austin

AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) -- No foul play is suspected in the death of a 1-month-old baby found not breathing by its parents in an Austin apartment.

Police Chief Brian Krueger says the mother woke up to check on the baby and called police when she found the infant not breathing Monday morning.

The baby was pronounced dead at Austin Medical Center.

The Austin Daily Herald says there were no signs of trauma on the baby's body. The police chief also says there was no indication the child had been ill.

An autopsy is planned. Names of the parents and the baby were not released.
