Baby Found Not Breathing, Dies In Austin

AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) — No foul play is suspected in the death of a 1-month-old baby found not breathing by its parents in an Austin apartment.

Police Chief Brian Krueger says the mother woke up to check on the baby and called police when she found the infant not breathing Monday morning.

The baby was pronounced dead at Austin Medical Center.

The Austin Daily Herald says there were no signs of trauma on the baby’s body. The police chief also says there was no indication the child had been ill.

An autopsy is planned. Names of the parents and the baby were not released.

Wow! This is just horrible! Sounds to me like a case of SIDS maybe. Scary! My heart goes out to the parents and families.

There is no greater heartache or pain. In May,08 my daughter and her husband lost their only child at 4 months old to SIDS. I didn’t think they were going to make it; they had so many questions; they were devastated. We cry with you. We will pray that the God who comforted us; will bring that same comfort to you and your family.
