Running the bases, teeing off, strolling the lakes- Those are all the things we love to do at the park…in the summer. But even though those warm and balmy days are months away, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board still has all kinds of ways to have an absolute blast during a good old-fashioned Minnesota winter. Take the Theodore Wirth Winter Recreation area for example. It covers 700 acres! There’s cross country skiing through miles and miles of beautiful forests. Part of the cross country ski trail is even lit at night! They also offer snowboarding. The Wirth Winter Rec. area is a real hot bed for snowboard enthusiasts both beginners and advanced. And if you haven’t taken the kids winter tubing, well then you’re just missing out on the most fun you can have sliding downhill. Bundle up, grab the cocoa and get The Goods on winter fun, just minutes away from the city.
